Jeff Allen Hartford Concert reviews
I absolutely enjoyed this show. I can say that for once, I really loved all of the openers - Good Old War, Filligar, and Foreign Fields (in that order). The show started at the Stone Pony summer stage outside at 6pm and ended around 10:30pm. The crowd and bands were excellent, and the weather held up nicely. It was cool to see Adam Duritz singing along with each song, hanging at the corner of the stage during the set of each of the opening bands, like he was watching over as a proud father.
As usual, Jeff Allen were excellent. The band was happy to be there with us and it showed. I was kind of hoping for one thing in this tour - for the sets to blend like they did in the Traveling Circus and Medicine Show. In that tour a few years back, all of the openers and Jeff Allen played together and in-between each other's sets. It was really cool to see and brought everyone together on stage. This concert was more focused on the individual bands, which does make for a more consistent message, but I really dug the other format.
